Miranda Guitars portable instruments

I found these guitars in an ad, I searched it and didn’t find many information, but Miranda Guitars’ products are travel guitars. These guitars are not like Stewart Stow-Away, you don’t need to disassemble any part of the guitar’s real body, just take the aluminum support body and put the 30 inches guitar into the case and go.

Miranda Guitars offers two models CFX-200 and S-250. Miranda CFX-200 is an nylon-string acoustic guitar with the 12th fret at the top edge of the body, cutaway to the 15th fret, graphite-composite truss rod and optional detachable tapping plates. Miranda S-250 is a steel-string acoustic guitar with cutaway to the 17th fret, 14th fret at the top edge of the body, bi-directional adjustable truss rod and optionals detachable pick guard and strap buttons.

Both models feature mahogany neck and body, rosewood fingerboard, bridge and tieblock, under-saddle piezo pickup, Miranda’s proprietary preamp/signal processor, optimized sustain, Gotoh tuning machines (located in the bridge), low-friction string reverser, rugged, padded plush-lined case, headphones and removable acrylic heel plate that simulates a full upper bout.

Price for both models is $1,195. The samples sound very good and it seems that can be used for large performances, but I see it more as a portable guitar than a stage guitar.

UPDATE (04/11/2007): You can check the full review of the Miranda S-250 at The Gadgeteer.
