If you are looking for a different sound for your drums maybe an hybrid drumstick like Silverfox™ Clawstix™ will allow you to get your desired sound combining the sound of a traditional wood stick with the percussion effect of the 13 wood dowels crashing with the 6 black Delrin polymer dowels included with Clawstix.
The dowels are held together by a ring that can be adjusted to change the sound getting a softer sound (moving down the stick) or a puncher sound (moving up the stick).
