Gibson vs PRS, end of the story

Some years ago, when PRS introduced a new guitar model, the PRS Singlecut, it looked like everyone liked the guitar, but Gibson felt it was too similar to his trademarked Les Paul guitars, so they filled a lawsuit for trademark infringement.

This week the Supreme Court, although the local federal district court sided with Gibson, sided with PRS. I think is a good decision for guitar companies because this kind of design restrictions could affect the guitar design process. I think almost everyone agrees with this affirmation: only “an idiot” would ever confuse a PRS Singlecut and a Gibson Les Paul.

PRS Singlecut price is approximate $3000.
